Later a Japanizes citizen Mikao Usui rediscover reiki in early 20th century. Usui spent his life priorities in studying and practicing on the mind, body, and spirit. Usui being a spiritual man, he dedicated his existence to discover the link between the mind, body, and spirit.
As Mikao Usui used to say, teaching should be as simple and as effective as possible. He spoke about self-healing and Reiki’s ability to maintain balance and harmony within the self and other people. His dedication to spreading this practice resulted in the establishment of the first reiki system.
Consistent with this, Usui popularized the practice and eventually started the first Reiki system. But Reiki’s journey didn’t stop there in Japan. Usui’s primary student named Chujiro Hayashi improved the concepts and developed strict hand placements to make Reiki easier. After that, Hawayo Takata, another dedicated student, brought Reiki to the Western world and made sure the principles of this system got to the people of different continents.
Today Reiki is expanded into a world practiced as a method which helps to recover physical, emotional and spiritual health. Although the practice of Reiki has gone through different interpretations, the principle of using the flow of energy to heal is still the same.
Through Reiki Training in Nepal at Nepal Yoga School, participants not only learn the practice but also connect with its historical and spiritual roots making their journey into Reiki deeply meaningful life.
Reiki and Chakra
Chakras and Reiki go together because both identifies with the circulation of energy throughout the body. Chakras are energy centers located in the spine that control one’s physical, emotional, and spiritual lives. There are seven main chakras which control certain organs, functions and energy in the human body.
Reiki aims at the direction of universal life force energy in the body with an intention of addressing these chakras. If the chakras get closed or disturbed, it results in stress, discomfort and illness. Reiki assists in bringing balance to bring harmony within the body to encourage a smooth flow of energy.
While practicing Reiki, the practitioner places their hands on or slightly above the client’s body to channel energy to chakra points. For example:
- Root Chakra (Muladhara): Reiki boosts security and presence sensations.
- Heart Chakra (Anahata): Reiki improves love, empathy, and related feelings of wellbeing.
- Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Reiki is the key to the existence of spirit and spirituality.
By aligning the chakras, Reiki promotes health, psychological wellbeing and both mental and physical strength. Some people benefit from Reiki sessions as a means of staying in good health while others get the extra advantage of enhancing their knowledge of the psychological aspect of their health.
During the Reiki Training in Nepal at Nepal Yoga School, students learn about the correlation between Reiki and chakras and how to balance chakras for themselves and others. This makes the practice of Reiki very holistic, promoting healing at all those levels of the human being.
